St. Drogo Biography
Saint Drogon or Saint Drogo was a Flemish saint and a hermit. He was born in the county of Flanders, in what is now Belgium, around the year 1150. According to legend, Drogo was an ugly and deformed child, but he was known for his kindness and compassion. As a young man, he became a Crusader and traveled to the Holy Land. After returning to Europe, Drogo decided to become a hermit, and he spent the rest of his life living in a small cell in Sebourg, France. He is known for his miracles and is revered as a patron saint of shepherds, coffee house owners, and people with physical deformities. Saint Drogo is also the patron saint of the Diocese of Saint-Omer, which is located in France.
