Saint Emma Uffing was a German noblewoman who was martyred for her faith in the 10th century. She was born in Bavaria, Germany, in c. 930. Emma was a devout Christian who refused to renounce her faith during a time of persecution. She was killed by her husband in 953 AD. She is the patron saint of people who are persecuted for their faith.
