Saint Agatha was a Christian saint who lived in the 3rd century AD. She was born in Catania, Sicily, and was a beautiful young woman. Agatha was arrested by the Roman authorities for refusing to renounce her Christian faith. She was tortured and then burned at the stake in 251 AD.
