Saint Andrew the Apostle was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ. He was born in Bethsaida, Galilee, and was the brother of Saint Peter. Andrew was a fisherman by trade and was called by Jesus to follow him. He preached the gospel in Greece, Scythia, and Achaea. Andrew was crucified on an X-shaped cross in Patras, Greece, in 60 AD. He is the patron saint of Scotland, Russia, Romania, Greece, and the fisherman.
