Saint Benjamin was a Christian martyr who lived in the 3rd century AD. He was born in Caesarea, in the Roman province of Palestine (modern-day Israel). Benjamin was a young man who was arrested by the Roman authorities for refusing to renounce his Christian faith. He was tortured and then beheaded in Caesarea in 295 AD. He is the patron saint of travelers, sailors, and bricklayers.
