Saint Camillus of Lellis was an Italian Roman Catholic priest and founder of the Order of the Ministers of the Sick. He was born in Bucchianico, Italy, in 1550. Camillus was a military officer who was wounded in battle. After his recovery, he became a priest and devoted his life to caring for the sick and poor. Camillus died in Rome, Italy, in 1614. He is the patron saint of the sick, hospitals, and ambulance drivers.
