Saint Clare of Assisi was an Italian Catholic saint and the foundress of the Order of Saint Clare, a women’s religious order. She was born in Assisi, Italy, in 1194. Clare was a devout Catholic who renounced her wealth and family to follow Saint Francis of Assisi. She died in Assisi, Italy, in 1253. She is the patron saint of television, television viewers, the blind, and the visually impaired.
