Saint Daniel was a Jewish prophet who lived in Babylon in the 6th century BC. He was a gifted statesman and diplomat. Daniel was thrown into a lion’s den for refusing to worship the Babylonian king. He was miraculously saved by God. Daniel died in Babylon in 538 BC. He is the patron saint of politicians, diplomats, and prisoners.
