Saint Gemma Galgani was an Italian Roman Catholic mystic and stigmatist. She was born in Camigliano, Italy, in 1878. Gemma was a devout Catholic who experienced visions of the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ. She also bore the stigmata, the wounds of Christ’s crucifixion. Gemma died in Lucca, Italy, in 1903. She is the patron saint of young people, people with incurable diseases, and people who suffer from headaches.
