Saint Helen was the mother of the Roman emperor Constantine the Great. She was born in Bithynia, Asia Minor, in c. 248. Helen was a devout Christian who was known for her charity and her love of the poor. She is credited with finding the True Cross, the cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified. She died in Rome, Italy, in c. 330. She is the patron saint of travelers, archaeologists, and jewelers.
