Saint Julia Billiart was a 17th-century Flemish nun and educator who founded the Daughters of Notre Dame de Namur. She was born in Cuy, Belgium, in 1751. Julia was a devout Catholic who was known for her charity and her love of the poor. She died in Namur, Belgium, in 1816. She is the patron saint of teachers and schools.
