Saint Giles has been venerated for many ages in France and England. It is claimed that he was born in Athene of noble extraction.

Saint Bartholomew was one of the twelve Apostles chosen by the Savior of the world. Many scholars have considered him to be the same person as Nathanael, the “Israelite without guile”, mentioned in St. John’s Gospel (1:29-51).

Joseph Sarto, the eldest of ten children, was born of humble parents on June 2, 1835, at Riese in the diocese of Treviso, Italy. He evidenced extraordinary intellectual endowments, high moral character, and solid piety from early youth.

Saint Bernard was born at Fontaines, in the year 1090, the third son of Tescelin and his wife Aleth, both of whom were worthy to be the parents of a Saint.

St. Roch, an eminent servant of God, was born at Montpellier, France, in the 14th century. He served the plague stricken in Italy while on a pilgrimage of devotion to Rome.

Saint Lawrence was the first of the seven Deacons of the Roman Church. He assisted the Pope when celebrating Mass, distributed the Holy Eucharist to the faithful, ad ministered the Church’s possessions, and dispensed the revenues among the poor.
